Maya Cosmovision

Our Maya cosmovision is a deeply inspiring way of life, illuminated by the wisdom and light of our ancestors. Within the memories of time, the origins of our millennia-old culture are recorded, forged in principles, values, and traditions that grant us the privilege of inheriting sacred knowledge. This knowledge is the source of our identity and the flame that fuels a unique vision of the world. Our cosmovision is not just a way of perceiving our existence, but an eternal bridge between the microcosm and the macrocosm, between the underworld and the overworld. It guides us to advance with respect, harmony, and hope within the infinite spiral of evolution and transcendence, always reminding us that we are part of something greater.

Our ancestors, with a vision full of wonder and humility, dedicated their lives to deciphering the mysteries of the universe. They tirelessly sought a way to honor and connect with life and the sacred creation that surrounds us, for questioning the meaning of our existence—our origin and our destiny—is a natural and powerful aspiration of humanity. By observing the movement and force of the great spirit that orders the cosmos, they established reference points and created the sacred calendars, luminous tools that allow us to understand our union with all that exists. These sacred calendars not only mark time but reveal the energetic dance between the stars and our own lives, reminding us that we are part of a universal harmony.

The sacred Cholq’ij, our ceremonial calendar, analyzes our behavior and at the same time naturally explains our personality. It allows us to identify codes that decipher each human being; in this sense, it makes it possible to recognize our virtues and weaknesses, giving us the opportunity to create conditions to establish our balance so that our life can fully develop.

In Mayan understanding, nothing exists in vain; everything has a purpose and is part of sacred complementarity. That is why we must honor and protect the mountains, the rivers, and everything that belongs to the nature of our Mother Earth, for she is sacred and sustains both our physical and spiritual needs. By caring for her health, we protect our own well-being and that of future generations, always remembering that we are guardians of life.

This message does not seek contradiction but rather opens the heart of humanity and inspire deep reflection on our responsibility to life. We live in times of great challenges, in environments marked by violence, pollution, and human degradation. However, we also live in times of opportunity: to awaken consciousness, to embrace solidarity, and to choose fairer paths where respect for life and nature is at the center of our actions. Only then can we transform materialism and exploitation into hope and balance for our mother earth.

When we stray from the right path, sooner or later, we face the consequences. Therefore, we must always walk with humility and profound respect before the sacred creation, remembering that nothing that exists is our own doing, but a wonderful gift we have inherited and must preserve with love and gratitude.
